Facebook is one giant commercial. You don't design a product to not make a profit. FB gets its money from advertisers, hence, we are not the true target, and they're not trying to cater to our needs. Bah. Screw FB.
I've never had an account and I know a lot of people who can't stand Facebook, so it's interesting you should say this. It was probably inevitable advertising would step in. Twitter will be next!
